Exporting pallets and ISPM 15
What ISPM 15 covers, which pallets need it, and how the IPPC mark is checked.
ISPM 15 is the international standard covering solid wood packaging used in export. Pallets in scope are heat treated and marked with an IPPC stamp.
Presswood, plastic, paper and metal pallets are not solid wood, so ISPM 15 timber treatment does not apply to them. That makes them a straightforward choice for some export routes.
We only confirm a solid wood pallet as ISPM 15 compliant where a genuine legible IPPC mark is present on the pallets supplied. Treatment and marking are confirmed per consignment before despatch.
